Brand new member, hit JerMar Lake Saturday Pm ½ day. 10 YO son and I boated 14, lost another 14 kid you not. Fished green/white Yum Dingers Tx Rigged 1/16 bullet weight. Started @ 4pm, caught 3 within 10 min.
Things slowed somewhat once we floated north, although bite was still there. Fished til dark, the topwater bite was flat out insane the last 20-30 min of daylight. Struggled w hookset on frogs (he is 10), I used a topwater w propeller and treble hooks forget the name) and did much better.
Used digital scale to show my son what bass really weigh he thinks are 3.5 pounders. Biggest was 2.33 lbs, but had one break me off (suspect must been 3-4lbs and a fray in line caused it).
We need rain, as she is down about 2.5 feet, and yes the gate at the entrance has a small hardened “indoor” wheel, makes it dangerous to open with the jerking and piece of metal sticking out 6” near your shin.
Overall, an absolutely perfect first trip out… especially with Sun and HOT in 90s. A really nice body of water, and location we will be back. Time to hit up some of the other 3-4 in the immediate area

Welcome to the club. JerMar is a personal favorite. It has been good to us with some 40+ bass days.
