What a day!!! The weather was clear and blue bird with almost no wind in the forecast... i was worried. Let me tell you those worrys were a waste! The bite was slow at dawn, but once the sun came up... IT WAS ON! We broke out the bladed jigs and we CRUSHED. The bite was consistent until we left at noon. We worked the entire circumference of the lake and only found fish in the deeper and clearer southern half. The north end of the lake past the telephone poles is SHALLOW mostly 2' or less and chocolate milk muddy. The southern end of the lake was the best. Almost all of our bites came in the 8' depth areas about 20' out from the bank. We caught A LOT of 3+lb bass, but nothing i would say bigger than 4 lbs and very few dinks. Most of the fish we caught were in the 16-18" range and faught HARD! The recommended boat ramp area is steep, but was easily doable with my 15' Mako and 2 wheel drive pickup. We didn't finnese fish at all, the bite kept rolling on moving baits. In a few more years I'd expect some giant bass from this lake! We will absolutely be back! Total fish for the day was 53 and we probably lost 10 before we got em to the boat. We loved our beautiful morning on little Cypress!
