Dr. Brad and I played hooky from work to fish Signal Ranch.  Even though its my second visit, I stilI felt like I had snuck onto a golf course property.  Its just a gorgeous.  We started the day with back to back doubles with one of them being a 3 pounder.  Brad jinxed us by saying this could be a record day and immediately the bites died.  We switched up techniques and managed to catch 15 bass and 1 bluegill by the time we took a break for lunch.  We ended up taking about a 4 hour break to get out of the heat.  I enjoyed resting in the shade by the dock. We caught a few early on topwater but most of the bass were on the bottom or tight to cover so T rigged worms and creature baits worked best. Brad caught the largest of the day, a 3 pounder, on a monkey butt colored whopper plopper.  I caught one on a green jig with a brown trailer.  I caught a catfish in front of a feeder on a wacky rigged senko.  We caught five bass walking around the small pond.  It was warmer than anticipated but the fishing was steady.   Thank you PWF and whoever takes care of the property.
