Second of two days on this lake. Similar to yesterday in many ways even though I basically tried all new techniques. Fished 8-3:30. Nice mild day with breezes once in a while. Well, caught my new PB of 8#3oz within the first half hour!  Pretty good to get new PBs on consecutive days. Coffee had not kicked in and put her back in before I took the picture. Oh well. Caught her on a popper right off the dam. The rest of the day was fairly steady minnows, like 6-10 inches. Same as yesterday.  Nothing of any size. Still love the lake but it just seems inundated with very small bass. Certainly there are giants for sure but no sign of good 3-5 lbers in two days. Not had this experience before here so I hope conditions improve. Plan to come back in the future though. Hey, I did catch my PB 2 days in a row. That has to count for something.

Congrats on your 2 PB’s Jimmy!  Awesome.  My son caught a 6.5 lb’r there at the club picnic several yrs ago.  It was the fattest bass I’ve ever seen, relative to it’s length.

Congrats on the back to back PBs, that is awesome!  Great note to start with coffee to get your mind sharp, hate missing out on that pic.  What you saw at East Lake is unfortunately what tends to happen when there’s not enough harvest, you end up with two classes of fish, stunted out smaller fish (and lots of them) and the group of big alphas that feed on those smaller bass.

The lakes are beautiful and great “bones” to be trophy bass factories; just wish they were a little closer to a major market so we could get more reservations and more culling there.
