We hit the lake early today trying to beat the heat.  Starting on the east shore with lipless rattling baits we started catching fish right away.  We also caught a few on a spinnerbait.  Once the sun got up we had to slow down and go to soft plastics to get them to bite.  Watermelon Flukes and Senkos fished slow got bit the rest of the morning along the two creek channels that run thru the lake.  We caught a few dropshotting a finesse worm as well.

The total for the day was 56 bass with approximately 30 harvested under 14”.  Good numbers for half a day of fishing.  The largest bass boated today was between 3.25 - 3.50 pounds.  Most all of the fish we caught today were very skinny.  No signs of baitfish were seen.  The smaller bass we took out of the lake regurgitated a couple of shad in the livewell.

Lake level appears to be a foot or two low and water temps were 85-86 degrees.  Water is fairly clear with about 3’ visibility with polarized sunglasses.  Ramp was in good shape.  I launched my 21’ Legend with no problem.
