Two of us fished JerMar on Tuesday afternoon while scouting for doves. Not many doves, but the fishing was very good. We caught 36 fish in 3 hours. Most of the fish were caught on weighted flukes, texas rigged senkos or texas rigged baby brush hogs. No big fish, but we only had a few under 14 inches. Most of the fish were 15 to 16 inch with a handful over 17 inches. Vegetation covers approx 40% of the lake, but there is plenty of water to fish during a 1/2 day trip. We added 65 Grass Carp this past spring and expect them to do their thing which will reduce the amount of vegetation over the coming years. Most of the fish were near or at their proper weights.

Our goal was to harvest 300 fish of 14 inches and smaller; which we accomplished last week. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! If you are looking to keep fish, please try one of our more than 20 lakes in which we are harvesting bass. Removing the right size and right amount is crucial to the health of any lake.

Thank you for your efforts in helping to make JerMar better and better. The lake was stocked 6 years ago and produced a 9 lb fish this past Spring. If there are not already double digit fish in the lake, there will be next year.  Most lakes peak in years 8 through 12, and with proper management techniques this lake will continue to get better.

I fished Jer Mar this last trip on Friday morning 8-24-12, Although I have fished this fine little lake in prior years. it was the 1st time I have fished it in 2012. To say the least I was disappointed in the fishing although I saw many property improvements where I believe the Owner has invested much Time and expense in making ones visit to the property an enjoyable experience. My disapointment stemmed from the fishing itself on this particular morning, I believe some of the reasons for a bad day may have included the low water level and consentrations of Hydrilla making it almost impossible to fish the entire lake. The Fish I did cstch were few and far between, none worth keeping under 14”. None of this is the fault of the property owner as I look forward to fishing this excellent lake again in the near future.
Signed,

Joseph,

Sorry you had a poor day. It may have just been one of those bad fishing days. We all have them. I have had good days on poor lakes and poor days on good lakes. You will get them next time!
