Only had a short window on Monday to get out to the lake.  Got there about 12:30 and fished until 5:00.  Weather was partly cloudly with a little wind.  Threw a frog into the lilly pads from the launch site and had a blow up on the first cast.  Launched the club boat and fished the lilly pads with the frog and kept getting blow ups but not good hook sets. Finally figured out that I was setting the hook too quickly.  Started slowing it down, letting the bass take the frog for a couple of counts then setting the hook and started getting them to the boat..  Once that started getting slow, I changed to the wacky worm around the brush piles and caught several more nice fish.  The 3 biggest were all just under 4 lbs, fat and healthy.  All good fighters.  Only 1 this time under 16”.  No luck on the swimbait this time out.  Had to leave to get home, so stopped fishing at 5:00.  While loading the car I noticed the wind had laid down.  So I missed the early bite and probably a great evening bite, but still had a great afternoon on a really nice lake.  Looking forward to getting back.
