Fished the afternoon/evening at Six 0 with my buddy Bill from about 12:45 to 7:30pm.  Great weather for the fishermen with overcast skies, a 10-15mph north wind, and temps in upper 80’s to 90.  Very pleasant day to be fishing.  Water temp was 84 degrees and beautiful green color with about 3’ of viz.  The grass is dead or dying off in anything less than 18’ of water, and so I figured the fish would be pulling out of it for the most part.  I noticed that when in the deeper water 25’ plus, there were lots of fish to be found all suspended between 18-20’.  There must be a hard thermocline at 20’ because that’s exactly the depth we found them all over the lake.  We fished and fished trying to get to them with everything we could think of, but just could not either coax them to bite or present the bait where they wanted it.  Around 6pm, I had exactly 2 fish, and Bill had 1.  After consulting my regular fishing buddy Mark who suggested just pounding the shallows even with the poor grass conditions we caught a few more to make the last hour an a half interesting.  Bill went on a flurry with a shakey head worm in Junebug throwing along the grass edges and ended the day with 9.  I caught 2 more on a weightless Yamatanuki in the same areas for a total of 4.  All these evening fish were on the small side.  Biggest fish of the day was the first one Bill caught.  It was a really chunky 16” fish caught off the brushpile right out from the dock on the shakey head.
