Fished the afternoon of 8/24.  On the water at 2:30pm, air temp was 98, water temp was 91, wind was 10-15 mph, which was perfect to keep it a little cooler.  I hadn’t fished in two months because of a new job, so regardless of the heat, I was heading out.

In past trips, I have always had the best luck on the NE side (near fence line) and East Side (off point near visible tree).  Lake is down 2-3 feet, so these areas were super shallow and not worth much time.  The cows were using the NW side as a swimming pool most of the day, so didn’t get to fish there.

Caught 11 in all different areas and patterns.  Caught them as shallow as 2-3 feet hugging trees, in transition zones from 6-8 feet and on the West end in 10-12 feet.  Top lures were white spinnnerbait with gold blades, 9 inch shakey head worm and 5 inch swim bait in pearl.

Lost multiple 3-4 lbers due to poor hooksets; user error was prevelant after not fishing for a minute.  All but one fish were 2.5 lbs -4.5lbs  I really like this lake as it can make you work to find them sometimes, but the fish are healthy, fight hard and are just a lot of fun.

Got a good laugh as per usual, my car attracted just about every single cow in the pasture.  At one point, I could barely see my SUV as it was compeltely surrounded by at least 25 cows.
