It started promising, there were shad busting at dawn right where the boat launch area is.  I got out there and worked that bank, and off the bank some, with a number of lures, couldn’t get a strike.  Saw a few feeding.  I worked my way the lake a total of three times, throwing everything from topwater (early and on the grass/bank line, worms at the grass or dragged from bank to boat, crankbaits all over including deeper and bank, and parked at the grass for a while and slowly worked it each time.  I caught two dinks with a crankbait near the bank.  I a found a school of crappie in the deeper area, but no luck with the bass.

My guss is that these bass had fed to being full on the newly introduced shad infusion, and simply weren’t interested, or just bad timing, you never can know for sure.  It’s possible later in they day they may have turned back on, but for 6-10:30 it was no luck.  Nice property, love the lay downs, easy to work with a boat (and looked pretty good for bank too).  Maybe next time!

Thanks to those who have noted that its extra windy on this lake, so tie off on tree limbs or 2 anchors can help if having trouble.
