Got to Deer Trail about 12:30 and fished to about 6:30. Great weather for July in Texas. This was my first time at Deer Trail but it won’t be my last. Beautiful lake with lily pads surronding most of it.  Started by throwing the swim bait into the lilly pads from the launch site.  Caught two small ones quicjky.  Launched the club Jon Boat and fished the swim bait in the lilly pads to the south and along the west bank.  The bite was fairly steady until about 3:00 when it slowed down.  Changed to the wacky worm and fished the structure in deeper water and and caught several more nice bass. Lost a couple in the pads and a couple jumped and threw the hook brfore i got them to the boat.  Of the 7 under 16”, 4 were nice healthy fish about 15”.  Good fighters.  The largest was 3.5 lbs. After about 6:00 the bite pretty much stopped and I pulled off the lake about 6:30.  Can’t wait for the next time out.
