I fished Waelder in a one-man kayak from 7:30am-Noon.  I covered the entire lake and threw about everything I had in my tackle box.  I ended up with 3  bass (largest 2.5lb), all on a midnight blue Texas-rigged worm and 2 catfish that both hit a silver spinner!  This continues to be a lovely, well-maintained property with easy access but the fishing is nowhere near as productive as it was just a couple of years ago.  If you’re interested in catfish, then bring some stink bait and get after it.
