Arrived around 10:15 a.m.  Sunny and got hotter as the day went on, lite chop and still water at other times.

Water color very stained from the very unseasonable rain lately.

Caught a good fighting Bass 4.65 lb 22+ inch on a first time trying the Magdraft Rainbow trout color, pictured!   She never breached the water but the hit and fight were violent and very strong! 💪🏻  This fish was on the very South End of the lake fishing down the line of the closest side of the most Southern island.  You can do this in one cast!  A Whopper Plopper 1st cast next time or something similar.☝️

The next fish was all the way on the other end Dam side casting down the line towards drain, east of drain, with a white and speckled black and chartreuse Chatterbait and a Rad shad white fish trailer, 3.35 lbs.  This one did jump out of the water twice and fought well.  It was also cool because my PWF friend was close by and watched it!  Whoo Hoo!

I know Kevin Bailey, PWF member caught fish in the middle of the lake South of Dam side on North side of lake  because I saw him reeling them in!  I also caught two similar location – could be a hump or brush piles. The Bill Dance white Crank bait probably 15 years old produced, then a newer better recent brand Crank bait crawfish 🦞 color at that same middle part in line with due South of Dam about 100 yards, very middle of North end of lake.

i caught zero on the west side of lake or east side of lake; so at each end of lake and around islands on Southend which is shallower.

i also caught a catfish on a Chatterbait!

Those that live around the lake own it now as there grandfather was the original owner and was very private with it.  Built in late 1960’s, and never dredged again according to an owner I spoke with therefore is much shallower in many places.

This is going to be a great Topwater lake when the water clears more and that bite starts.

I only fished moving baits with the exception of dragging a jig and crawfish black and blue along dam as I had no anchor and never connected with it.

I think a big rattletrap in the middle as the water temps raise and the water clears will produce and best!
