1st time at this tank.
Decided to go with the flyrod setup today and leave the boat at home. This is an awesome lake to walk around and cast - I wouldn’t say flip flops, but it is an easy walking lake with nothing behind you to mess up 40 foot flyrod casts.
Water is down a foot or two, but in awesome shape. Weeds are not a problem at all. There is some snot grass on the west bank, but not an issue and water clarity was good.
I fished during the heat of the day - approx 12:30 - 3:30 or so until the wind and storms starting pushing through.
I caught 19 fish total. 4-5 nice size panfish, 1 small crappie and the rest bass. The bass were super healthy and fat, biggest was approx 4 lbs and took my 5 weight flyrod down to the backing - awesome fight. Plenty of 2-3 pounders in the mix. Fish were loving either dark green or black wooly buggers.
Great lake, not too far from Dallas - I will be back.
