The day started out well. My daughter and I had a snag in Dallas the night before, and didn't arrive until 8 am. Jarret, the ranch hand, met us at the lake, and got us on the water. The top water bite was on, and Whopper Ploppers were catching fish, and frogs were getting them in the Lilly pads. We tried some other baits, but a storm was rolling in, and they kept hitting top water. As the storm came in, Winfred, the landowner, called me to make sure that we were being taken care of. I can't say enough about Winfred. Just the consummate gentleman host! He was willing to do just about anything to make sure that we were comfortable, and catching fish. We got rained out for six hours, then went back out, and more top water, and some shallow diving crank baits. I wish I had thought of flukes, because they would have killed there. There is a guest house if you would like to stay there, and this place is nice! There is an outdoor kitchen with seven different stations. I plan on returning with more family members and stay in the house. Caught about 25, day interrupted by rain. Best was 3-11, only one cull, because they were all such quality fish! Winfred sent me a pic o couple of days later of a 9-2 that had been caught! The property is amazing!

Glad you enjoyed the trip with your daughter Michael!  Lots of good pics and some quality fishing despite the storms.  Appreciate your feedback on Winfred and the lake house at Fairfield Red Lake, it is an amazing place!
