With my dad in town from Indiana it was a perfect excuse to do some mid-week fishing. I finally got a chance to fish Signal Ranch and my review will sound similar to other club member reviews. Short story, this is five star fishing and an amazing property. (Nothing was overlooked, such as tethering the chairs to matching recessed brackets on the dock so the chairs don't blow away.) I can't list out all the details but the property owner has thought of everything and guarantee an enjoyable visit for everyone. The weedline is perfect and totally fishable and I really like the variety of structure (wood, lily pads, reeds and weeds.) The pontoon boats with raised cushioned seats are perfect, and plenty of room for two. I have a tendency to bring too many rods onboard, and in typical fashion I did not disappoint but still no issue with space. Fully charged battery ready to go and a worker dropped off 2 extra batteries in the morning.
We arrived around 7:30am and caught a dozen bass even before loading the boat. We stopped counting after 40 but guessing we ended somewhere over 50 with the largest going 4lbs 8oz. The bite was aggressive and caught bass on everything including Pop-R, finesse spinnerbait, TRIG, Senko and swim jig. We fished the shoreline for most of the day, and every now and then I would cast to the airators and would pick up a couple extra. Some of the more memorable bites came on a ultra light rod with 6lb test. The lake description states the owner will occasionally stock goldfish so I brought some micro crank baits (with upgraded hooks) and the small goldfish lure was the ticket.
Special thanks to the landowner, ranch staff and PWF for making this property accessible. Again, it's an awesome place, close to Dallas, and fishing is on fire.
