First visit to Salt Lick and it didn’t disappoint. On the water 10am, water temp was mid 70s and lake is full as most PWF lake in DFW area. Air temp was 70-80 with on and off cloud cover and thunderstorm late in the afternoon. Wind was low and variable in the morning until early afternoon but was very gusty mid afternoon and completely died down late afternoon just before the thurderstorm. Started on the pocket directly right of the launch area throwing t-rig senko , caught few around grass edges then moved over to the northwest corner and caught at least 6 on t-rig senko including couple nice 3 pounder. Then started covering the north perimeter and continued to catch few on t-rig, got to the shallow middle north perimeter and tried a whopper plopper, caught few including another couple 3 pounder. Continued on the north perimeter to the east alternating t-rig and whopper plopper and continue catching. Took a break 2:30pm and decided to cover the south perimeter with mostly whopper plopper starting from the southwest, and the fish continued to hit, just kept running the whopper plopper along grass line and everytime I got to a point I caught at least 4 fish. Caught 34 total, 2 x 4lb, 4 x 3-3.5lb, most were 1-2.5lb and 8 culled.
