I hadn’t fished the bluffs in over a year.  Got a late start, typical Monday, had to get some things done in the office first.  Started fishing around 12:30pm and quit around 7pm.  My wife and I both hooked up on our first casts.  That pretty much set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.  Solid bite around submerged grass was the focal point.  Generals and the Flush were the main baits that produced arond the grass.  Topwater fish were caught through the afternoon and some spinner bait fish were caught when the wind was swirling up a little but the bite was defintialy a soft plastics bite around the grass.  I had fished this lake each of the last two years but have never seen as much grass as I did yesterday.  There’s grass everywhere.  Fish were fighters.  Every hook up made you think you had a 6 pounder or better on.  Really fat, and healthy Bass with attitude.  Great day of fishing.  We’ll be back sooner than a year this go round.
