My 1st experience with the new club. I invited a 1st time guest as well. He met me at the entrance gate. I only caught one and he got skunked before the midday monsoon unleashed havoc and made the afternoon not possible to fish with lighting. So, we had to cut the day early.
Tried many different lures including top on 8 different rods. The weightless Baby bass colored Fluke got the job done.
We attacked the lake in a counter clockwise pattern with Huge expectations. The grass was really grown up to the surface and changed what we could throw. Had to switch to both weightless Fluke and Senko due to the heavy cover around the entire exterior of the lake.
The pontoon boat was very nice and sturdy. You both could easily stand. The owner Craig and his dogs came down to greet us, nice people!
I will work the middle of the lake much more next visit.

One thing I learned about this lake is when I go I have no expectations. The fish are pampered and smart, we are on their turf. Not even electronics will help you. I have had one of my best days there (32lb bag), a day of one 5lb first cast and that was it, and a skunk my very first trip there (also my first club trip). Enjoy what Pecan Gap has to offer, and you might be rewarded. Most likely the most finicky lake in the club, with some of the biggest consistenty when they give us that opportunity
