Graduation present to myself and I can’t think of anything better than to go out at this beautiful location to hunt for the big one.

Nice day out, great weather, though afternoon was very calm and clear skies. I had thought the wacky rig was going to do it (since it was the clear winner the last time I went), and I was very wrong. I threw it for hours all throughout the bank and the 2 humps. Lost one at the bank, lost another at the hump.

Did a drop shot and got 2 throughout the day. Covered water with chatterbait, nothing. Went slow with a shakey head, nothing. Glide bait, nothing. Swim bait, nothing. Tokyo rig, nothing. Texas rigged a creatrue crawl and dragged it on the bottom, nothing.

Fluke was the best option. 5 on the fluke. 2 on frog.

I’m wondering how much a thunderstorm affects the water chemistry of a body of water, and whether that makes fish a bit more finicky. Any thoughts on that?

May be a lot of fresh water in that lake. Last time I fished it the lake was a couple feet low, then two big rains. I wondered if it was going over the drain
