I fished for 5 hours on Saturday afternoon 4/13 on the beautiful BlackJack Ranch.

It was warm and windy and the weeds were playing havoc with my trolling motor, so I fished mostly from shore to catch a decent amount of fish.

The bass were very finicky and you had to get the right lure at the right speed.  I was using mostly TR soft plastics to try to avoid the weeds.  Dark colors (black or dark blue) seemed to work best.

The vegetation growth makes a trolling motor not very practical as there are very limited areas where you could motor without getting weeds wrapped around the prop.  Kayakers would fair much better. The water was clear and warm and the shoreline grass was well trimmed to make shore access easy.
