Fellow member Jim Collins arrived at Heartbranch around 9:30 and fished until 3:30.  Great weather with sunny skies and temperatures climbing to the high 60’s.  The lake was full and the water a little muddy, but free of excessive weeds and/or cover.  We bank fished only and caught a total of 15 bass and 3 catfish.  The smallest bass was 2.5 pounds.  Most of the remaining bass were in the 3 to 4 pound range, with two around 4.5 pounds.  All the bass were caught close to the bank, generally around 3 feet from the shore.  Very healthy fish and they all put up a good fight.  We caught fish throughout the day all around the lake perimeter, with the exception of the section around the ranch house.  Red plastic worms with long swigglie tails worked all day. 

Overall, a very enjoyable day.  This lake seems to be recovering nicely from problems encountered last year.  We will definetely be back.
