Got to lake before daybreak and was in the water as sun started showing. Launch area very muddy but roads are great. When leaving tires spun in mud going up slight incline. Went around lake throwing topwaters without any hits. As sun came up we saw water was very muddy, 6” or less visibility. Thought it was going to be tough fishing. We threw lots of moving baits with no luck. Switched to plastics and started getting some bites. Caught them mostly on the shore by house and the damn. Ended day with 21 fish with 4 really nice catfish that faught great. Few of the bass were 2 1/2# while the rest were 3 to 4 #. All were footballs. My last fish of the day pushed 5# but was very short for its weight. Faught great and pulled drag. Most fish had bloody tails but I don’t think they have spawned, their belly’s were huge. Not a lot of fish but the quality was awesome. Attached pic of the football, really beautiful fish.

Many of the Heartbrand bass seem to have that short and stocky body shape.  It is paired with a very hard fighting gene and makes them wonderful sport fish.
