Members Bryan Durrett and Cortney Coe took the maiden trip to the new site. Few fish caught, but I did catch my largest bass ever on a green 8 inch lizzard. Sorry, no picture as my camera batteries were shot.

There is an abundance of dead standing timber in this lake reminding me of Timber Lake a little, but deeper over all I think with lots of deep water. The big fish came from 20 plus foot water at 8 pm.We look forward to a return visit when the temp’s cool off.

We stayed at a hotel in Gilmer. There are two and the trip to the lake is only about 15 minutes from the hotels. Nice ranch and easy to find. It appears it would be difficult to launch boats of much size at this site. This site appears to be car friendly if you don’t have a truck.

This site may have the potential of Yates and San Saba. It’s a much closer drive from Dallas than San Saba anyway.
