Reservation Number : 39122
Property Name : Culpepper Farms
Reservation Date : 03/19/2024 PM -
Total Fish/Sizes : Largest around 3 pounds, 24 bass total, 4 crappie
Lures Used : Jewel Thief Minnow, Wild Thing Diver, Pistol Pete Popper, Sleepy Joe Baitfish

We fished the afternoon bite on Tuesday with air temps in the mid 60’s and water temps in the low 60’s. Light breeze. Water clarity about 12” with more debris in the water on the upper “goose island” end.

We ran sinking tip setups to get down 3-6” with Jewel Thieves in threadfin sizes which was productive for the smaller bass and the crappie. We are larger baitfish in chartruese & pearl and were able to increase the average size a bit, along with a few exciting bank-side reaction strikes. With around an hour and half of daylight left, I switched to topwater and had a number of excellent blow ups including the largest fish of the day. We saw a number of larger fish on the graph on the secondary drop off the bank, but didn’t touch anything much over 3 pounds. Fishing was solid. We worked for them for sure, but we encountered numerous hot spots at diffent times.

Great spot, and it sits down in a nice hollow allowing protection from the w. Also, we were rewarded with farm fresh eggs on departure. Very beautiful property.
