Just a great day in February to be fishing.  Almost all the fish were caught within 6’ of the shore.  We decide not to launch the boat as the wind was blowing 19 mph.  Probably as good decision as the bass were close to the bank.  The lures that worked were 3” baby bass swimbait on an 1/8 ounce and frogs. I was surprised at the active top water bite probably caught 10 on frogs. The lake is full and only 4” below spillway. Got a lot of good exercise in these 77 year old legs plus I got to use my new Fenwick setup.  Water clarity maybe 3 feet.  Greg came down to meet us and we chatted for awhile.  Most of the fish ranged around 16” we caught a few in the 19 and 20” range. If y'all have some young’in this is great spring break adventure.  Morning fishing, lunch at Pig Whistle and afternoon hunting fossils at Ladonia fossil park.  Can't say enough good things about this location. My reference to Texas is the lake is in the shape of Texas.
