Stopped at the Pig Whistle for breakfast. Before heading to the lake we examined the Presbyterian deserted church next door. What a shame to have that beautiful stained  glass framed in decaying wood. Then off to the lake.  For a day that was supposed to have little wind this was not the case.  We fished the entire day from the bank and dock.  Just a beautiful setting and the fish cooperated. We got one 5 pounder, 3  4 pounders .  Met the owner Greg and enjoyed talking with him.  This lake is a keeper and will be back.

One  other item has anyone been to the Ladonia Fossil Park?

It's been over a year since I been to fossil park and think they moved the original location since the north sulphur river dam was openup and now has a pretty good flow of water. That entire area is amazing for any fossil hound and so much has been found along and in the river, including fully intact mosasaur skulls.

Thanks.   I think the state built a new parking lot and river access.  If I can time it maybe a few days after a heavy rain might wash up some new finds. I'll roundup the grandkids and have an adventure.

No problem. Personally when I go looking for fossils I usually take the kids to Post Oak creek in Sherman.  A higher traffic area and a pretty well known place to find shark teeth. Me and the kids will find 100 per trip. Some are really small but finding anything 80 million years old is cool nonetheless. Warmer months are the best as we wade the creek, scooping and sifting around the sandbars
