Fished Deer Trail from Noon to Dark. The forecast changed multiple times leading up to the trip, and the north wind front was at its best Sunday afternoon.

The lake has a north / south orientation and the wind was blowing strong out of the north. With heavy cloud cover it made for a chilly afternoon.

We caught the majority of fish on the main lake points, both east and west side. Nothing much on the dam or in the shallow southern creek.

This lake has A LOT of smaller bass – like 6-8 inches. If you could get your bait through them you could hook the 12-14 inch range bass. We were able to cull a handful of the smaller ones, and they were constantly chasing your bait back to the boat.

The topwater bite picked up for the last 10 minutes of light, a short window but there was quite a bit of action!

The boat ramp is in great shape and the lilly pads are think and healthy!
