Total Fish/Sizes : 16 bass - 11 removed and 5 in the 2-to-4-pound range.
Lures Used : Drop shot and Texas rig worms. Top water propeller lures and Frogs.

This was my first time at Travis Lake.  My plan was to bring my Kayak but at the last minute, I decided not to because of unpredictable weather conditions that day.  The day ended up being awesome and I could have kicked myself for not having it.  The bottom line is I only banked fished on the dockside of the lake.  The bite was consistent and I was there from 1:00 to 3:30.  It appears this side of the lake seems shallow and most of the fish were closer to the bank.  Top water lures were more effective.  However, I did use a few paddle tail swim baits and worms to bring some in too.  The best part of the day besides when I was catching fish was meeting this four-legged friend and my new fishing buddy.

I will bring my Kayak the next time and try to give a better report on the lake depth, and temps, and hopefully find a few honey holes on the other side of the lake!
