Member Scott Balch and I fished the morning at Little A and Wildcard. I had read reports (and seen the pics) of big fish in Wildcard so I decided to bank fish it for a little bit before launching the kayak in Little A. I caught 3 fish in my first 5 casts so I decided to launch at Wildcard to see if the bite was on. The yellow magic (an old but reliable go to topwater) did the trick to begin with. I fished it along the weed line and caught several good fish ranging from 16” to 19”. There was no area it did not catch fish. I tried the hollow body frog in the grass and caught a few, but not nearly as many as the yellow magic popper.
When the topwater bite slowed I threw a white spinner bait with good success. Later in the morning I tried my trusted baby brush hog with fairly good success. The baby bass crank caught a couple of reaction bites but didn't do much. Altogether I caught 21 fish from about 13” to 21”. Most in the 17 to 19 inch range.

Water clarity was about 6 feet and temp was 80 to 84.

Scott reported similar numbers on Little A, but I failed to get details of what baits he used. We both had family commitments so we had to hurry home and didn't have time to talk.
