Fished mostly by myself today – son in law was there for three hours in the morning. Temp in the eighties, both air and water, not many clouds, light breeze if any.  The bass were hungry but didn’t really want slowly-presented soft plastics.  They wanted to chase something. Most of the bass were suspended in the main body, although I pulled quite a few from the timber early on. When it got hot and windless I had success slow-rolling a chatterbait in deeper water.  This is a good lke for bird lovers. There is a big pileated woodpecker (looks like an ivory-billed to me) couple feeding babies up in one of the dead trees, and there are other types of woodpeckers and some flycatchers.  Fun, remote place to spend a day!
