The spring fishing’s over. Time to key in deeper structure and creek channels. First time launching my boat at the narrow ramp but it was fine. Uploaded pics for the boat at the ramp with the plant growth. Got on the water at the first lake around 130 pm. The water temps were 80-82 degrees. Most of the bass were caught in 8’-18’ of water on brushpiles. I did catch a few in 2’-4’ of water, but they were not biting like the prior month. The warmer water has kicked in the growth from the moss and water plants which made it more difficult to fish shallow. Having to clean the hooks of moss was the only con for Sandy Creek. The fish still fight like heck including the crappie, jk. No monsters caught on this trip other than crappie the size of both my hands. The crappie were mixed in with the bass, and I was using medium size cranks for bass not crappie, haha. I do think the crappie should be harvested because they are so plentiful. Otherwise, most bass caught were 2-4# with 4.5 being the biggest. I generally like to fish fast moving baits but my next trip would be to slow down and fish plastics utilizing the texas rig and carolina. Anyways, I had stopped early to go to the 3rd lake since I haven’t seen the other lakes. I wanted to check for the wife & daughter in case they come with me next time. The 3rd lake looks great but the grass was grown out making it impossible to fish on the bank. I think I tried for an hour with only 1 fish. Wish there was a jonboat on the 3rd lake to use. Will be back, thank you!
