Live Oak Creek Lake – A Bass Fishing Haven

Welcome to Live Oak Creek Lake, a 10-acre fishing paradise teeming with bass. This is the ultimate destination for anglers who enjoy reeling in solid catches—especially if you’re after numbers. Most of the fish here fall into the 2-pound range, ensuring a satisfying day on the water with plenty of action.

Key Features:

  • Bass-Filled Waters: Live Oak Creek Lake is packed with bass, making it ideal for anglers who want to catch more than just a few small fish. The lake’s channel runs along the western side and is perfect for targeting bass.
  • Forage-Stocked: Bluegill and Red Ear Sunfish have been stocked to provide forage for the bass, creating a well-balanced ecosystem for fishing.
  • Other Species: While there are no crappie in the lake, you’ll find a healthy population of catfish to add variety to your catch.

Boating & Access:

  • Launch Small Boats: You may launch boats up to 14 feet in length near the pier on the western side of the lake. Please be cautious as there is no designated boat launch area, and we recommend against launching fiberglass or aluminum boats larger than 14 feet.
  • Large Boat Access: The southern area of the lake is prone to high water, especially after heavy rains. In these conditions, the lake can connect to a larger 50-acre lake nearby (we do not have access to this larger lake). If rain has been significant, it’s best to avoid larger boats, as the drainage area may need to be crossed to reach the better launch area.
  • Ideal Launching Conditions: When the area is dry, larger boats can be launched at the southeast corner of the dam. We've successfully launched a 16-foot, 3500 lb electrofishing boat in this area, but we recommend not using boats larger than 17 feet, especially fiberglass or aluminum models.
  • Jon Boat Availability: When in doubt, it’s always a safe bet to use the Jon boat provided on-site. The area is different for each vehicle and boat, so if you’re unsure about launching your larger boat, it’s best to bring a smaller one or rely on the Jon boat.

Fishing Experience: Live Oak Creek Lake offers an incredible fishing experience with ample opportunities to catch plenty of bass. With its unique layout and abundant fish, this is the perfect spot for anglers who want action all day long.

Requirements


  • MANDATORY!!! Remove all bass 14" and under at this site. Report the total number of each species removed, back to the club office through the online reservation system after your outing.

  • Take all trash with you. Clean boat of all trash including your used soft plastics.
