HeartBrand Ranch - 20-Acre Lake: A Scenic and Productive Fishing Experience

Located on the renowned HeartBrand Ranch, the largest producer of Akaushi Wagyu beef in the U.S., this 20-acre lake offers a unique fishing experience amidst a working cattle ranch. You may even spot hundreds of Akaushi cattle grazing by the lake, adding to the charm of this rural oasis.

Lake Features:

  • Depth: Most of the lake is between 2-4 feet deep, with deeper areas ranging from 6-12 feet.

  • Forage Base: The lake is well-stocked with golden shiners, threadfin shad, and an abundance of bluegill, providing a healthy and sustainable food source for the fish.
  • Bass Population: The lake holds a healthy population of bass, ranging from small dinks to bass over 7 lbs.
  • Water Clarity: Water clarity typically varies from 1-3 feet, influenced by seasonal rainfall.

Fishing Experience:

  • Bass: In addition to solid action for bass, this lake is home to a variety of fish sizes, including bass that are in the 3-8 lb range.
  • Catfish: There is a healthy population of channel catfish ranging from 3 to 8 lbs, and you may keep these.
  • Other Fish: You may also keep any crappie you catch during your visit.

Boating and Access:

  • Jon Boat: A 14-foot jon boat is available for members to use, though it may be heavier than typical jon boats and could require two people for easier handling.
  • Dock: There is a fishing dock near the boat launch area, perfect for anglers who prefer to fish from the bank or dock.
  • Boat Launch: The lake has a rock ramp, suitable for launching virtually any size bass boat, especially if you have 4WD.

Access and Gates:

  • Main Gate: A combination lock secures the main entrance, and you'll find the combination in your reservation confirmation.
  • Lake Gate: The lake gate has an automated keypad. You’ll need to use the code provided to access the lake. To exit, be sure to press the black button at the gate to leave.
  • Gate Etiquette: Even if the gate is open when you arrive, if you leave after 5:00 PM, be sure to close and lock the gate behind you.

Important Notes:

  • Bass Harvesting: No bass harvesting is allowed for 2024.
  • Trash: Please remember to take all trash with you and clean the boat of any trash, including used soft plastics.

Unique Experience:

While fishing, you may be accompanied by curious Akaushi cattle exploring the lake area. The scenic surroundings of the HeartBrand Ranch, with its beautiful landscape and superior beef cattle, add a distinct rural charm to your fishing experience.

This is an excellent location for anglers looking for a productive and peaceful fishing day, with plenty of bass and catfish to target and enjoy.

  • Please do not harvest at this lake.

  • Take all trash with you. Clean boat of all trash including your used soft plastics.

  • You may keep all Catfish.

  • Jon boat is 14 foot and very wide. It may take two people to flip over and push off the bank.

Tough fishing
