Willow Lake – 6 to 9 Acres

This soil conservation lake is a versatile fishing location that varies in size depending on water levels. When full, it spans 9 acres, but it often ranges between 6 to 7 acres. Despite its variable size, the lake offers excellent fishing opportunities with a particularly healthy bass population.

Lake Features:

  • Size: Varies between 6-9 acres, providing ample space for fishing and exploration.
  • Bass Population: The lake is known for producing strong, healthy bass. Recent electrofishing surveys revealed bass up to 7 lbs, with about half of the fish in the 2 to 4 lb range. The lake record is over 10 lbs, showcasing its potential for trophy catches.
  • Additional Species: The lake also holds catfish, providing variety for anglers.
  • Structure: The lake features a mix of shallow and deep water, with several laydowns providing structure and habitat for fish.

Access and Launching:

  • Boat Launch: Currently, there is no provided boat at this location. However, launching your own boat up to 16-17 feet should be manageable if you have 4WD.
  • Ramp: While there isn't an improved ramp, the slope is ideal for launching boats. Keep in mind that the area doesn't have rock for tire traction, so it's essential to have 4WD in case of muddy conditions.

Fishing Experience:

With its mix of bass and catfish, this lake offers a well-rounded fishing experience. The presence of laydowns and varying depths provides anglers with plenty of opportunities to target different types of fish. The potential for larger bass (up to 10 lbs) and the healthy population of 2-4 lb bass ensures that you'll have an exciting day on the water.

Requirements


  • MANDATORY!!! Remove all bass 14" and under at this site. Report the total number of each species removed, back to the club office through the online reservation system after your outing.

  • You may keep all Crappie and Catfish. Not sure there are crappie here.
