Wildcat Creek Ranch Overview

Location:
Wildcat Creek Ranch offers a premier outdoor experience with both first-class accommodations and excellent fishing. This high-fence ranch is known for its quail and pheasant hunting. The 14-acre lake is designed with the fisherman in mind, making it a prime destination for anglers. Although the ranch also offers lodging for hunters, you’re here for the fishing experience.

Fishing Highlights:

  • Lake Features: The lake has long fingers, an island, brush piles, trees, and laydowns, providing a variety of fishing environments.
  • Depths: Most of the lake is 7 feet or less, but there are several humps that drop to 16 feet.
  • Bass Population: Most bass are in the 14–16-inch class, but bass over 5 lbs have been recorded during electrofishing surveys. Fish over 8 lbs have been caught here.
  • Bluegill Production: Since the addition of multiple fish feeders in 2022, bluegill production has skyrocketed, further improving the lake’s forage base.
  • Fishing Pressure: With the lake being more than 2 hours away from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, fishing pressure is low, offering a more peaceful and enjoyable experience.
  • Crappie and Catfish: The lake has a small crappie population but no catfish.

Lodging and Facilities:

  • Cabin: Wildcat Creek Ranch offers a 1,000-square-foot cabin located just a few feet from the lake. The cabin includes:
    • King-sized bed
    • Full kitchen
    • Coffee maker
    • Microwave
    • Cable TV
    • Outdoor firepit
  • Fishing Dock: Enjoy direct access to the lake from the fishing dock.
  • No Wi-Fi: Please note that there is no Wi-Fi at the cabin, allowing for a true getaway experience.

Booking Details:

  • Fishing: Requires a 24-hour advance notice for reservations.
  • Lodging and Fishing: Requires 48-hour advance notice for booking.
  • Fishing Regulations: Mandatory harvest of all bass 14” and under. Report the total number of each species removed through the online reservation system after your outing.

Location and Directions:

  • There are multiple entrances to the ranch, but you’ll need to use the GPS directions provided with your reservation. Be aware that CR 1242 does not pass through the lake despite what mapping programs may suggest.
  • It’s recommended to arrive just after sunrise on your first visit to familiarize yourself with the layout of the ranch and avoid confusion.

  • Lodging is a premier PWF lodging location and ideal for a husband/wife trip. Lodging is approx. 1000 square foot cabin built just a few feet from the lake, with a fishing dock and outdoor firepit. There is a queen bed, full kitchen ,coffee maker, microwave and cable TV. Also, there is a gas grill outside for member use. There is no wifi.

    Lodging prices are $175.00 for two people. $25 for each additional person.

    All linens are provided. This is a first class place.
