However, you are here to fish and this lake is made for fisherman. The 14-acre lake has long fingers, an island, brush piles, trees and laydowns. Most of the lake is 7 feet or less, but there are several humps that drop to 16 feet. Most of the fish are in the 14–16-inch class, but electrofish survey produced a few bass over 5 lbs. Fish over 8 lbs. have been caught. In 2022 multiple fish feeders were added and the bluegill production has exploded. Since it is more than 2 hours from most of the metroplex, fishing pressure is low. Great lake on an incrdedible property. If this property was 1 hour closer to the metroplex pricing would be a lot more.

Wildcat Creek is a premier PWF lodging location and ideal for a husband/wife trip. Lodging is approx. 1000 square foot cabin built just a few feet from the lake, with a fishing dock and outdoor firepit. There is a king bed, full kitchen, coffee maker, microwave and cable TV. There is no wifi. If you book lodging with your fishing you will need a 48 hour advance notice to make sure the cabin is cleaned.

Please note there are multiple entrances to the ranch. And the new main entrance is not the entrance you will be using. Please use the GPS directions. If you are looking at your mapping program it appears that CR 1242 goes right through the middle of the lake. It does not. CR 1242 dead ends into the property. See directions on your reservations for more specific information. Our recommendation is to arrive just after sunlight on your first trip. It's not hard to find the lake or where to park. But, there are several buildings and roads and seeing it while it is light will save you time in the long run.

The lake has a small crappie population and we do not believe there are any catfish.

Please note this property requires 24 hour advance notice for fishing and 48 hour advance notice when lodging and fishing.
