Tear Drop Lakes – Serene Fishing in a Tranquil Setting
Nestled on the same property as Bluebonnet Ridge and Mesquite Valley, the Tear Drop Lakes offer a peaceful, smaller-scale fishing experience across three unique lakes: Upper Tear Drop, Middle Tear Drop, and Lower Tear Drop. These lakes are perfect for anglers looking to enjoy a quiet day of fishing while surrounded by nature.
Key Features:
Upper Tear Drop (4 Acres)
- Fishing Docks: This 4-acre lake features a small fishing dock, providing easy access for anglers.
- Catch Potential: Electrofishing results have shown numerous 2-4 lb bass, making it an exciting spot for bass fishing.
Middle Tear Drop (5.5 Acres)
- Fishing Dock: Like Upper Tear Drop, this lake also has a small dock, allowing for comfortable access to the water.
- Great Bass Fishing: The lake is stocked with bass, with fish ranging from 2-4 lbs and even some larger fish over 5 lbs.
Lower Tear Drop (2.5 Acres)
- Shallow Waters: At over 20 years old, Lower Tear Drop is the shallowest of the three lakes. However, it still offers a great fishing experience with abundant bass in the 2-4 lb range.
- Quiet and Relaxing: This smaller lake offers a more intimate setting for those looking to fish without the crowds.
Fishing Details:
- All Lakes Included: Your reservation allows you to fish all three lakes—Upper, Middle, and Lower Tear Drop—during your visit.
- Bank Fishing: Excellent opportunities for bank fishing surround all three lakes, making it easy to cast your line from any location.
- Boats: No boats are provided at these lakes. If you wish to bring your own, kayaks or small plastic boats are the best option. Please note that no improved boat ramps are available at these lakes.
Important Notes:
- Separate Reservation Needed: Your reservation for the Tear Drop Lakes does not include access to Bluebonnet Ridge or Mesquite Valley. A separate reservation is required for fishing at these larger lakes.
Unique Dining Experience Nearby:
After a day of fishing, head to Bristol General Store (just 5 miles from the lakes) for a truly unique dining experience. This general store houses an outstanding sushi restaurant that draws crowds from miles around, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Sushi is served on Wednesday evenings and all day Friday-Sunday. For those who prefer other meals, there are breakfast sandwiches in the morning (opens at 7:00 AM) and burgers and chicken sandwiches for lunch. Be sure to check the hours by calling 972-666-2400.
With the Tear Drop Lakes, you’ll enjoy peaceful fishing across three distinct, serene lakes, all while being close to the charming Bristol General Store for a sushi experience like no other.

I fished the Tear Drop Lakes for first time after a few trips to the larger lake at Bluebonnet. I really enjoyed bank fishing the three lakes and will certainly do it again. It was nice not fighting the wind in…
