Another convenient lake for members who live in the northern part of DFW metroplex. This 19-acre lake lies 9 miles south of Muenster. This soil conservation lake is relatively shallow with most depths less than 6 feet. There are depths to 11 feet near the dam. The lake has a forage base of bluegill and an abundance of gizzard shad. The gizzard shad pose both a positive and negative for the lake. The positive is that the bass in the lake is well over their average weights and the lake has above average-sized bass. The negative is that the bass densities are lower than we like; likely making average catch rates a bit lower. The water clarity is usually about 12-15" except after a heavy rain event which could make the lake less than 10".
We are not harvesting bass at this site.
There is a 12 foot jon boat for members to use.
Lodging is available at this location. A completely restored 2 bedroom 1 bath home, aka, Miss Kittys Place, sits about 1/2 mile from the lake and is perfect for two anglers or a couple who wants to get away from all and yet be just less than 45 minutes from the northern part of the metroplex.
