Requirements
MANDATORY!!! Remove all bass 14" and under at this site. Report the total number of each species removed, back to the club office through the online reservation system after your outing.
Whitesboro is 80 miles north of both Dallas and Ft. Worth and just 45 minutes north of Denton. Sandy's place is an 8 acre tank that is reminiscent of fishing in the ole farm tank growing up as a kid. This pond is 2-4 feet deep in about 2/3 of the lake. The ENE side of the lake has depths to 9 feet and will likely be the home of the bigger fish in the winter and summer. The pond boasts a healthy population of bluegill and plankton rich green colored water in the summer and fall. It will likely be difficult to launch a boat off a trailer here. So, we recommend hand launch boats or bank fishing only.
But wait! There is a second tank called Cecil’s. Cecil’s is similar to Sandy’s but only 3 acres. Cecil’s will likely have a few larger fish, but both tanks have 5 lb plus bass. Again, It will likely be difficult to launch a boat off a trailer here. So, we recommend hand launch boats or bank fishing only.
There is not a club boat provided at either of these two tanks. Please bring your own hand launched boat or plan to fish from the bank.
Please note that there is NOT a well worn path to the tanks. You will be driving through a pasture to reach each of the lakes. After a heavy rain event, we would recommend not fishng here until the ground dries a bit.
