Located halfway between Bowie and Jacksboro sits OZ lake. This picturesque lake has depths to 20 feet and generally has clear water. Electrofish survey produced bass in all size classes with several over 5 lbs. Please note that the lake is at least 50% covered in heavy Milfoil Grass and will be a challenge to fish with anything other than topwater or weightless plastics. If you enjoy fishing heavy grass this is the place for you.

The path back to the lake is more than a mile and not well worn. A truck or SUV is recommended. You will not need a 4 Wheel Drive, but a higher clearance vehicle would be a good idea. Using Goggle Maps would be helpful and we will have a series of signs to help you get back to the lake. There is not a rock road but the ground is generally very firm. The first time you come you may want to arrive while it is daylight.

There is a 14 foot jon boat for members to use. The boat launch area is not improved, but the ground is solid and should not pose a problem for smaller bass boats 16/17 foot and smaller.
