Escape to this 5-acre fishing pond just 80 miles from Katy, conveniently located halfway between Brenham and Navasota in the peaceful community of Independence, Texas. The ranch is named for its impressive oak trees, some estimated to be over 500 years old, creating a serene and picturesque setting.
The lake benefits from fertile conditions, with nutrients provided by grazing cattle on the hillside. A small island within the lake is a hotspot for fish activity. An electrofishing survey revealed an abundance of bass in the 13-16 inch range, with several over 18 inches.
