This 5 acre pond is perfect for a 1/2 day get away and just 80 miles from Katy half way between Brenham and Navasota in the sleepy community of Independence Texas. As the ranch name implies this ranch has some of the largest oak trees in the state. Some have been estimated at 500 years old.

The lake stays fertile from the cattle who graze on the hill side and there is a small island that holds lots of fish. During our initial electrofishing survey, most fish were 13 to 16 inches, with several over 18 inches. We hear you don't want to miss all the bluebonnets on the hill side when they are blooming!

Requirements

No large outside boats allowed. Two man plastic boats, kayaks and float tubes are acceptable. Be sure the boat and trailer are clean before launching.
