Nestled halfway between Winnsboro and Mount Vernon, this picturesque 22-acre lake is designed to grow big bass. The plankton rich water surrounded by an abundance of water willow and smartweed creates an environment for trophy-sized bass. PWF has electrofished more than 300 lakes and we do not recall any lakes that have the abundance of both threadfin shad and bluegill EVER. The lake boasts a thriving population of big bass, many with relative weights exceeding 100%, making it a prime destination for both seasoned fishermen and weekend enthusiasts.

There is a nice stable 15 foot mini pontoon boat for members to use. Bring your own trolling motor and battery.

There is not an improved boat ramp. But we easily launched our heavy electrofishing boat. Plan to launch about 40 feet from the dock (towards the dam)

There is lots on knee high smart weed that surrounds the lake, so bank fishing would be difficult.

We are not harvesting bass at this time. You may keep all crappie.
