Just 35 miles west of Downtown San Antonio sits a slice of heaven. Lago Escondido is 28 acres and is the jewel of this 2700 acre ranch. The lake has everything a bass loves; deep creek channels next to shallow flats, timber, and aquatic vegetation. The lake boasts a huge pier, large pavilion and restrooms!

There are 2 boats with trolling motors and batteries available at an additional set cost of $75 per boat for half day or full day reservation. Please remember to unplug the extension cord that charges the batteries. Please remember to plug back in the extension cord when you leave, so that the next member has a charged battery. If you bring your own boat, your boat may be launched on the opposite side of the dam, using the emergency spillway. When the water is high your vehicle tires maybe in the water, but the ground under you is rock. Private Water Fishing launched our large 3500 lb electrofishing boat without the use of 4WD from this location, while water was trickling out of the spillway.

Please note that the ranch does not have a full time manager and on occasion the boats may have water in the bottom of the boat. On rare occasion a trolling motor may be down. Unlikely that this is the case, but it can happen. We would not be able to rectify the situation if the previous reserving member did not make us aware so that we can remedy the situation. Have a back up trolling motor. We take many reasonable steps to make sure boats are in good operating order, but cannot refund monies paid for your fishing if the trolling motor is not working or if you failed to toggle the on/off switch on the pedal of the trolling motor. Moreover, there is a very large red dial in each boat. If the switch is on 1 or 2; you can switch it to”ALL” . This makes both batteries operational. Fish from the bank or have a back up trolling motor. It will save you much frustration. Don't let a down trolling motor ruin a fun day of fishing.

If you are unfamiliar with bow mounted hand or foot control trolling motors please call the club office for tips to make your day on the water a lot more enjoyable. Please remember to check toggle switch on foot pedal to verify if the unit is on or off.
Our recommendation is for you to bring a back up transom mounted trolling motor and battery in case the current one is down or you are unfamiliar with the workings of a foot control trolling motor. Doing so, will ensure that you do not have a wasted day of fishing. A back up trolling motor and battery is always a good idea.
After a rain you may need to bail water from boat. The boats are floating on an uncovered dock. For a $75 boat rental fee we are unable to provide staff to bail water. Please bring a small bucket or similar to bail. We have provided bilge pumps in the past but they show up missing after multiple attempts of keeping them in the boat. Bailing water maybe necessary.

MANDATORY!!! Remove all bass 16" and under at this site. Report the total number of each species removed, back to the club office through the online reservation system after your outing.

Take all trash with you. Clean boat of all trash including your used soft plastics.

***Must leave trolling motor in stowed position when finished using the unit. Leaving the trolling motor in the water damages the unit.***
