Kickapoo Lake: Classic Conservation Lake with Big Bass Potential

Kickapoo Lake is a beautiful 12-acre conservation lake, originally built in the 1950s and providing a peaceful yet rewarding fishing environment. With depths up to 15 feet, the lake boasts rich vegetation and natural structure, creating ideal conditions for bass fishing.

  • Fish Stocking: An abundance of bluegill provides excellent forage for the bass, contributing to a healthy population with notable catches up to 10.5 lbs.

  • Fishing Potential: Kickapoo Lake offers prime fishing opportunities, especially during spring, fall, and winter, though coontail moss can increase during the summer months.

Amenities:

  • Bank and Boat Access: While bank fishing is available, a small, two-man boat is ideal for accessing more of the lake.

  • Boat Launch: A convenient dirt launch area makes it easy to back small boats into the water.

  • On-Site Boat: A Tracker 1236 aluminum jon boat is provided for members’ use.

Requirements

• Please Lock the Gate: Be sure to securely lock the gate behind you after entering and exiting. Simply chaining the gate is not enough; it must be locked to prevent it from blowing open and allowing livestock to escape. Thank you for your cooperation!

• Mandatory Fish Removal: Remove all bass 14" and under, as well as any crappie caught at this site. Please report the total number of each species removed to the club office through the online reservation system after your outing.

• Seasonal Fishing Hours: During duck season, fishing is available in the afternoons only.

I used the owner’s boat and had a great time.  Caught 2 on a streamer and the rest topwater blow ups on either a mouse pattern or frog/popper.  8 fish total.  Super fun.
