Double A Lake – Premier Bass Fishing Destination

Located just 50 miles east of downtown Dallas, this 22-acre rock quarry lake offers an incredible bass fishing experience. Stocked in 2015, the lake has since flourished with a robust population of bass, particularly in the 2.5 to 5 lb class, with some reaching 6-7 lbs and a few even hitting the 8-10 lb range. These bass are some of the fattest in the club, with their average relative weights exceeding 110% of their target weight, making this a premier destination for trophy anglers.

Fishing Guidelines:

  • Bass Management: As of 9/29/2023, it is mandatory to remove all bass 16 inches and under from the lake during your visit. Please report the total number of each species removed back to the club office via the online reservation system after your outing.
  • Catch and Release: If photographing bass, please return them to the water immediately. Placing bass in your live-well is not allowed to ensure the best health and growth for future generations.

Lake Features:

  • Underwater Habitat: This lake is full of underground humps, ridges, and boulders, creating prime bass habitat. The lake has a 50-foot perimeter of shallow water (2-6 feet), which quickly deepens to 10-15 feet and ultimately reaches 35 feet at the deepest points.
  • Electronics Advantage: Members with electronics on their boats will be able to spot these underwater structures, providing increased fishing opportunities.
  • Cover: There are a few trees in the NE corner, adding to the habitat diversity.

Boating & Access:

  • Launch Area: The gravel ramp with military-grade metal panels is more than sufficient for launching full-size fiberglass bass boats.
  • Road Access: An all-weather road provides easy access to the lake, ensuring you can reach the ramp area year-round. Please stay on the road when driving to the launch site.

Amenities:

  • Jon Boat: A 12-foot aluminum boat is available for members to use during their fishing trip.

Important Rules & Information:

  • Exclusive Access: Your reservation is for this specific lake only. There are multiple lakes on this property and surrounding areas, but you are NOT ALLOWED to fish any other lakes. Ignorance of this rule is not an excuse—violators will have their membership terminated.
  • Full Day Minimum: A full-day minimum reservation is required to fish this lake.

This lake offers some of the best bass fishing in the area, with a focus on growing trophy fish. Whether you're targeting 6-7 lb bass or hoping to reel in an even bigger catch, this quarry lake is an exceptional destination for avid anglers looking for a challenge.

  • There is a full day minimum to fish this site.

  • 1/2 day of fishing is available only if you also fish a full day. To clarify, you can reserve the lake for a full day only or a full day and a 1/2 day. (Two half-days DOES NOT equal a full day)

  • Take all trash with you. Clean boat of all trash including your used soft plastics.

  • Please note there are many lakes on this property and surrounding property. Your reservation is for this lake only. YOU MAY NOT FISH ANY OTHER LAKE. IGNORANCE OF THIS RULE IS NOT AN EXCUSE. IF YOU ARE FISHING ON THE OTHER LAKES YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL BE TERMINATED.
