Azalea Ranch is situated halfway between Ben Wheeler and Edom Texas. Both towns scream small Texas charm. Azalea Ranch is no different…it's charming with some of the nicest lodging, if not the nicest lodging in the club. There are two lodging opportunities. More on lodging below. NOTE: if you are fishing only or lodging in one of the two cabins but not both there is a chance that someone may be staying in a cabin while you are there. Those guests are not supposed to use the lake when we have members there, but you may see people so if that is an issue, please take that into account before booking this property.

The lake is 21 acres with a great rock ramp capable of launching full size bass boats. The ranch boasts all weather roads from the entrance to the lake and to both cabins. The lake has depths to 23 feet and loaded with small bass. Currently, 95% of the bass are 15” and smaller. The largest bass electrofishing was 3.93 lbs. The lake is need of some great harvest and is a wonderful place to take the angler who wants steady action, and the size of the bass is not as important as the quantity. Catching 30+ bass in an afternoon or morning should be common.

There is a nice new mini pontoon boat that members can use for an additional $50 fee, please still bring your own battery and trolling motor to power the boat. The lake may be easily bank fished.

Our survey results did not yield any catfish or crappie.

The towns of Edom and Ben Wheeler are great. We highly recommend The Forge in Ben Wheeler for a coffee in the morning or a cold beer burger and even live music on the weekends. In Edom we recommend the Log Cabin for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Requirements

Remove all bass 14" and under at this site - PLEASE DO NOT DISPOSE OF HARVEST FISH ON PROPERTY, PLEASE TAKE THEM WITH YOU. Report the total number of each species removed, back to the club office through the online reservation system after your outing.
