Santo - Rock Creek: La Roca Range

Less than 1 hour west of Fort Worth sits one of the finest properties we have seen. This property has 2 lakes for our members to fish. Rock Creek is the smaller of the two lakes and is 7 acres. This 7 acre lake is likely one of the smallest in the club. But, the lake fishes bigger than most of our 15 acre soil conservation lakes. This lake is loaded with rock, timber and depths to 40 feet. The lake was completed in 2014 and stocked that same year. We have the rare opportunity to fish a lake that will likely get better and better over the next decade. A 14 foot jon boat with seats is provided.

THE JON BOAT WILL BE ON A TRAILER. YOU WILL NEED A VEHICLE WITH A 2 INCH (STANDARD SIZE) BALL AND HITCH THE TRAILER TO YOUR VEHICLE AND BACK THE BOAT IN THE LAKE AND TAKE THE BOAT BACK OUT. ON OCCASION, YOU MAY NEED TO PULL THE PLUG TO DRAIN WATER AFTER A RAIN.

Remove all bass 16 inches and smaller.

There are two entrances with two separate key pads. Our gate is the double gate to the left of the main gate. There is a key pad to open but requires manual opening and closing. You must get out of your vehicle to use the key pad (remember your gate is the double gate, not the single gate with a key pad). The key pad is just below the PWF sign and does not face outward. The gate does not automatically open, the key pad electronically opens the lock. After entering the code, approach the right gate door, lift the post and push the gate open. It is a bit tricky, but will open, you can hear the lock click when you put in the combination. When you have unlocked, pull your vehicle through and close the gate behind you making sure it has locked. It locks automatically when the gate is closed properly.

Parking

There is an all weather road most of the way to the lake, park on the dam. If you bring your own boat you can make a complete turn about 2/3 of the way down the way of dam. The dam is very wide, you will need to drive slightly down the lake side of the dam and turn your wheel sharp making a tight turn, making sure you do not drive off the back side of the dam. If you are unsure, get out of your vehicle and look for the widest part of the dam.
