Fellow member, Chris L, and I got on the water before 8AM and fished to 9PM. Long day but great day on a beautiful property. Water was 63 and pretty clear (3-4 foot visibility). All day was windy (15-20 MPH). Morning was full cloud but by 2 PM we had full sun. The wind lasted all day until about 7 PM. Morning bite was good. Frogs were the most productive, both on inside and outside edges of the weed line. Things shut down until evening when the bite picked up again (this time frogs and senko with a bullet). We fished 13 hours and tried a lot of lures (fly rod with poppers and divers, frogs, chatterbait, A Rig, senko, jig, crankbait, In the end the frogs and senko were most productive. We never could figure out the ledge or deeper bites. We had sonar and did not see any collections of fish there. But we did mark lots of bait balls (but not consistent bass on them). Everything we hooked was shallow on frog or on the flats near the weed edge (which is sharp, deep and clear).
Had a nice chat with with Joe, who is the owner. Super friendly and knowledgeable about the lake. He clearly takes great care of his lakes. Clear marking of ramps and it looks like the PVC points mark the beginning of structure.
This was our second trip in April and we will be back all year. Looking forward to Joe and PWF opening up some more of the lakes.
Fish are super healthy and strong. They fight like fish twice their weight!
