I have  been seeing recent reports for Kickapoo and decided to give a try.  Checking back on my reservatiobn history it had been 5 years since my last trip. 

Back then Kickapoo was the lake closer to home to go to if I was wanting to have a fish fry or need some for the freezer.  Many would be so small it would be hard to get a decent filet.  Today I was still able to to get some good filets but only one fish out of five under 11 inches.  Tossed back 10 and all were solid 16-18 inch fish and still some outstanding jumpers.

This was first time seeing water run over the spillway.  Main lake visibility was 3-5 feet and northen cove was stingy dingy halfway back with about 18 inches. Coon tail is healthy but still below the sutface a foot or two.  Caught fish over the moss with an underspin early in the day while it was too windy to try and work any banks for spawners.  Mid afternoon started pitching plastics against an into the reeds and had equal success.  

Would be interesting to see what a survey of the lake would produce.
