It was a beautiful spring day in Waelder.  I fished from 9:30am to 3:00pm with a 30-minute break in the middle.  All but two fish were caught on slow moving 6-inch worm in blue/red or dark blue.  One cat and a 1.5 lb bass hit a shad colored jerk bait.  I was able to cover most of the lake in a one-man kayak but all fish were caught at or near the cove by the main house.  The highlight of the day was a 3.5 lb bass caught about 2:00pm.  The productivity of this lake is not what it was before the fish kill but it’s still a nice place to fish!
